Hello, I’m Steph

A.k.a. the crazy dog lady.

Based in Calverton I cover the village and the surrounding area. Established in 2014 when I was trying to work full time with 3 dogs and 2 small children it was time for a change and there wasn’t anyone locally to help walk my dogs and a friend was also finding the same. I’m fully insured, DBS checked and canine first aid trained.

My Canine Companions

My passion for dogs runs deep, nurtured by years of companionship with my own wonderful pets:

Amy

Amy, my first dog, was an incredible Labrador cross who brought immense joy to my life and my children’s. She had a remarkable eagerness to learn new tricks and even developed a knack for helping with household chores, like emptying the washing machine!

Kaila

A year later, Kaila joined our family, a magnificent Weimaraner from a prestigious line of French working and show champions. While showing wasn’t our focus, her natural instinct and agility in the field were truly impressive.

Oscar

Oscar found his way to us through a local acquaintance who knew of my experience with Weimaraners. He was re-homed when his previous owner, despite his show ring success (he even competed at Crufts!), found the demands of the breed challenging alongside a toddler.

What to expect

My passion for dogs runs deep, nurtured by years of companionship with my own wonderful pets:

Complimentary Consultation

I offer a free consultation to all new clients. This provides an opportunity for us to meet, for me to get acquainted with your dog, and for you to ask any questions you may have.

Trial Period

To ensure a smooth transition and comfortable experience, all new dogs undergo a two-week trial period. This allows them to settle into their routine during group walks and to become familiar with me and the other dogs.

Positive Reinforcement Training

During our walks, all dogs receive continuous training through praise and positive reinforcement, often accompanied by delicious biscuits for a job well done!

Important Considerations

Microchipping & ID Tags:

Recall:

Dogs with unreliable recall will remain on lead at all times. Some may be suitable for a long line to allow for more freedom. Written consent is required for any off-lead dogs.

Group Walk Suitability:

While we strive to accommodate all dogs, not every dog is suited for group walks. This could be due to excessive nervousness that cannot be overcome, or a tendency to become overexcited or agitated. We are committed to working through any issues, but it may occasionally be necessary to explore alternative solutions to best meet your dog’s individual needs.

Insurance:

All dog walkers carry public liability insurance, which covers damage to third-party property or injury to a human. Please be aware that this insurance does not cover accident or injury to your dog. Therefore, it is strongly advised that you have your own pet insurance to cover your dog’s specific needs.

I look forward to discussing how Doggy Days Nottingham can support you and your furry family members.
